In-form SLR vs Alaska

-
The PBA Commissioner’s Cup resumes after a three-day break with Sta. Lucia Realty and Alaska Milk, two teams slowly inching their way to the top, seeing action in today’s lone game at the Philsports Arena.

The game set at 7 p.m. comes after a break in the weekend schedule to give way to the Manila leg of the Women’s World Grand Prix that featured world-class volleyball action from teams like Russia, Brazil, Germany and Japan.

The Realtors and the Milkmen currently share third place with identical 3-2 records behind defending champion Red Bull, winner of five of six games, and Coca-Cola, just half-a-game behind with its 5-2 slate.

Sta. Lucia and Alaska both lost two of their first three games this conference but have bounced back by winning two of their last three games. Tonight’s winner will gain solo third, and the loser slips into a tie with San Miguel and Shell.

Alaska, however, will come off a painful 76-78 loss to Shell last July 13. The loss came after the Milkmen, who last won a title in the 2000 All-Filipino, racked up two straight wins over Purefoods (83-79) and FedEx (82-73).

Sta. Lucia hurdled its last two assignments, beating Ginebra, 89-76, last Friday in Dumaguete City, and RP Selecta, 66-62, two weeks ago at the Araneta Coliseum. The Realtors last tasted defeat in the hands of the Red Bull Thunder June 30.
