Dancesports midyear ranking event slated

The Dancesports Council of the Philippines, headed by Becky Garcia, will stage its general assembly and midyear ranking and competition July 18-20 at the Philsports Arena.
Latin professional champions Brendan Cole and Camilia Dallerup will arrive for the event and do a demonstration. They will also conduct a workshop and adjudicate the event. Also arriving is Marcel de Rijk World Dance and Dance Sport Council Praesidium member and chairman WD and DSC social dance committee. He will also adjudicate and conduct the teachers workshop organized by the Professional Dance Teachers Association (PRODANZ) headed by Cynthia Mamon at the Dancesports Training Center at the Dancesports Complex on July 16-17.
Other adjudicators arriving are Vincent Bulger from the United States, president and praesidium member of the World Dance and Dance Council (WD and DSC) and owner of the Fred Astaire Dance Schools; Tetauji Kojima from Japan, vice president and praesidium member of the WD and DSC; Nils-Hakan Carlzon from Denmark, president of the International Dance Organization (IDO), and Royce Yeh from Taipeh, president of the Chinese Taipeh Dancesports Association.
Dancesports athletes from all over the Philippines will compete in the Juvenile, Junior, Youth, One Dance, Two Dance, Pro-Amateur, Senior, Pre-Amateur, Amateur and Ten Dance categories in both the Standard and Latin American disciplines. There is also a professional team match between the Amateur Standard and Latin couples against the Professional Standard and Latin couples. Prize money will be at stake for the winning team.
