Only NSA can act on Django’s case

-
POC Task Force chair Tom Carrasco yesterday denied a published report saying his group did not consider multi-titled billiards star Francisco "Django" Bustamante for inclusion on the Philippine team to the Busan Asian Games because there was no more room for him.

"I don’t recall saying (that the Task Force had closed the door to Django) when I talked to sportswriters after the (Task Force) meeting Thursday," said Carrasco.

According to Carrasco, it is the responsibility of an NSA to form the national team and make the proper recommendation. "Django’s participation in the Busan Asiad is a matter only the billiards body can decide and recommend to the POC Task Force," Carrasco explained.

Carrasco further clarified that the billiards’ coach, Ricardo Ancaja, has yet to submit the names of his players. Ancaja told the POC-PSC Task Force during Thursday’s meeting that the team will have eight players.

"But Mr. Ancaja did not name the players. I expect him to submit the list, duly signed by the billiards association president (Ernesto Fajardo) next week," said Carrasco.
