Participants will include elite blackbelts from the national pool, Taekwondo Blackbelt Brotherhood and Sorority (TBB and TBS), Philippine Taekwondo Contingent (PTC), winners of the AFP-PNP Olympics, gold medalists of the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao Championships and of the different NCR selections.

Competition will be conducted in all weight categories for the following divisions: senior men’s and women’s (18 and above), junior men’s and women’s (14-17) and children’s (13 and below).

The tournament, organized by the International Management Group and the Philippine Taekwondo Association, is expected to draw around 300 champion blackbelts.

The event kicks off on July 15 with competitions in the seniors division after the opening ceremony at 5 p.m. Taekwondo veteran Monsour del Rosario will conduct clinics from July 16-19, 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Highlighting the week-long competition will be a taekwondo demonstration and celebrity taerobics exhibition on July 20 at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Taerobics is a new fitness regimen, which combines the martial art of taekwondo with aerobics.
