Dream Broadcasting to telecast World Cup games in RP

-
FIFA World Cup 2002 fever is on as the world’s leading spectator sports event will be beamed live to Filipino soccer enthusiasts, beginning with the opening ceremonies tomorrow.

The monthly-long football extravaganza will be exclusively broadcast by Dream Broadcasting System, the first and only direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television broadcasting service in the Philippines.

"We are certainly proud to be the exclusive Philippine carrier of World Cup 2002. The opportunity for a live broadcast of the games will certainly redound to the Philippine football community," Bam Halagueña, Dream vice president for marketing, announced.

Halagueña said the Dream live broadcast will cover the opening ceremonies, a featured game daily during the elimination round, and all the games from the round of 16 to the finals.

He said that Dream has also entered into partnerships with leading restaurants and trendy outlets that have in-house TV monitors that would allow their patrons to enjoy viewing the games event as they dine. These outlets include Dreambar at 6750, National Sports Grille and San Mig.

Halagueña noted that watching the games via Dream Broadcasting System will be a most pleasurable experience as viewers will be treated to laser-quality video and CD-quality audio–an entertainment sensation unavailable even on cable TV.
