Que seeks history in RP Amateur

Only one player had won the Philippine amateur golf championship three consecutive times in the last 52 years and Angelo Que has the chance to make himself a three-peat winner like the legendary Luis "Golem" Silverio.
History beckons when the 23-year-old Que makes his farewell appearance in the national championship starting today at the Faldo course of the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.
"I can only hope copying Golems three-peat is part of my destiny," said Que, who wasnt even born yet when Silverio pulled off his three-peat in 1972.
Que heads a cast of 76 players teeing off for the first round of a 36-hole qualifying phase that will determine the 32 men in match play which is being used for the first time in recent memory.
Que had already announced he is turning pro after he completes his call of duty for the national team this year. He is expected to be part of the Asian Games team in Busan, Korea.
It will be a tall order for Que fighting off the pressure to complete his search to amateur greatness as a heavy favorite.
