Batangas Entry wins

Top favorite Batangas Entry led from start to finish yesterday to rule the 25th edition of "1867 Founders Day ," also known as the Prieto Cup, before a cheering crowd at the San Lazaro Hippodrome.
Batangas Entry dictated the tempo of the 1,900-meter race en route to a four-length victory over second favorite Staunch Ally. Hyberbid and Ilocandia Slew finished third and fourth.
The victory was worth P360,000 for Batangas Entry co-owners Paolo Mendoza and Dioceldo Sy. Staunch Ally won P135,000, Hyberbid P75,000 and Ilocandia Slew P30,000.
Batangas Entry posted a winning time of 2:01.5 with quartertimes of 17-23-26'-26'-28', which is 01.5 lower than the mark he set in ruling the Senate President Cup last Feb. 18 at the same track.
Batangas Entry sold P709,057 out of the total sales of P1,313,272. Ramon Romualdez
