Batangas top bet in Founders Cup

Batangas Entry sees action for the first time in more than two months when he leads the field in the 1867 Founders Cup this afternoon as the Manila Jockey Clubs 135th Anniversary Racefest comes to an exciting finish at the San Lazaro Hippodrome.
Batangas Entry, co-owned by PBA standout Paolo Mendoza and PBL chairman Dioceldo Sy, last saw action in the PCSO First Gentlemans Cup, also known as the Silver Cup, won by Wind Blown last Feb. 19.
Todays 1,900m race will be held in honor of the Prieto family, the original founders of the club and one of the prime movers of horseracing in the country. Expected to lead the Prieto family in todays affair is former PBA commissioner Leo Prieto.
Out to give Batangas Entry a big run for his money are Staunch Ally, Family Task, Ilocandia Slew, Bull Rider, Sky Hawk, High Roller, Kiwi Rose, Hyperbid, Super Sharp and Might and Power. The winner gets P360,000, second P135,000 third P75,000 and fourth P30,000. R. Romualdez
