National duckpin starts April 24

The country’s leading duckpin bowlers will see action in the 27th Grand national and eighth Youth championships April 24-May 5 at the Puyat Sports Center in Starmall, Mandaluyong City.

According to PHIDBC president Inez G. Magbual, competition will be conducted in men’s and ladies’ team, men’s and ladies’ single (A & B and C), Masters, youth from 10 to 16 years old and seniors (55 and above for ladies and 65 and above for men).

Big prizes will be up for grabs in this event which will also feature the Philippine Duckpin Bowling Council’s general assembly on May 1, starting at 2 p.m.

Major prizes include P50,000 and P40,000 for the men’s and ladies’ team, respectively; P15,000 for men’s and ladies’ singles (A & B), P12,000 for men’s and ladies’ singles(class C), P15,000 for the Masters (men and ladies), P4,000 for Youth (boys and girls) and P5,000 for seniors.

There will also be team (top qualifier and single), individual (top qualifier, high pinning and high single) and association (biggest delegation, most outstanding, most valuable player and best uniform) awards.

"This is one of our biggest events this year," says Magbual.
