In the long history of aikido in the Philippines, it has been a tradition that Japanese Shihans from Hombu Dojo Japan conduct dan grade promotion for qualified local aikidokas.
This year, however, Hombu Dojo Japan decided to forego their visit here since aikido in the country has achieved a level of proficiency almost comparable with that of its place of origin.
In line with the International Aikido Federation and Hombu Dojo regulations and guidelines, Aikido Philippines, which is one of its accredited organizations, will conduct for the first time a dan grade promotion exams on April 20 at PAJA dojo located at the Sports Medicine Building inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Aikido Philippines has created an examination committee composed of the four highest ranking members of the organization to conduct and spearhead the dan grade examination.
