P.8-M carry-over WTA sum up tonite

Manila Jockey Club begins its six-day race week tonight with an explosive opening card of nine-races propped up by a hefty carry-over amount of P827,558.19 in the popular Winner-Take-All (WTA) event.

Horse racing aficionados are expected to troop to the San Lazaro Hippodrome and MJC’s more than 220 Off-Track Betting (OTB) sites today to mark the start of a weeklong program of races capped by the P1-million PCSO Grand Championship Race on Sunday.

"More than the added incentive of a huge carry-over amount in the Winner-Take-All, we believe that the quality and competitiveness of our race cards would provide the thrill and excitement expected by our growing number of regular patrons," noted MJCI president and chief executive officer, Atty. Alfonso Reyno Jr.

Highlight of the six-day race program would be the running of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Grand Championship Race, a P1-million event exclusive to graduates of last year’s PCSO Sweepstakes Races. The first two championship races will feature four-year-old and up Sweepstakes Race veterans.
