Fernandez, Lombos top PSB masters

Larry Fernandez and Eve Lombos emerged masters champions of the Boysen-PSB tenpin championships, which came to a close over the weekend at the Green Valley Country Club in Pasig.
Representing TBAM, Fernandez finished with a total of 2688 pinfalls to edge out perennial rival Danny Tuazon for the senior mens single title while Lombos of MBA (2064) was simply dominating in topping the distaff side of the meet organized by the Philippine Senior Bowlers.
Fernandez had a 12-game finals average of 224 pinfalls, with Lombos coming through with a 206 average in 10 games.
Tuazon of PBA and leader for the most of the qualifying, settled for second place with a 2635 total followed by TCBAs Art Oberio (2625).
Lombos fellow MBA player Carmen Talosig (1975) and PBAs Marie Warren (1961) round out the top three in the senior ladies singles of the week-long meet sponsored by Boysen, Philippine Sports Commission, Marvins Bar, 3D, Stronghold Steel Corp., and Union Galvasteel Corp.
In group II of the senior mens singles, the TCBA duo of Manny Aldaya and Rod Diamante made it a 1-2 finish with 1950 and 1851 pinfalls, respectively, while at third was Eurgene Ortilla of PBA (1828).
