Django, Andam reach semifinal

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates Francisco "Django" Bustamante and Leonardo "Dodong" Andam continued their winning runs Tuesday to advance to the semifinals of the first Fujairah International billiard tournament here.
In the semis round Wednesday, the two Puyat Sports-sponsored players met their toughest opponents so far in the 9-ball meet. Bustamante faced multi-titled Johnny Archer of the United States and Andam took on top-ranking world pro Alex Lely of Holland.
Andam defeated Italian Fabio Petroni, 11-6, and Bustamante disposed of Pitugo "Percy" Bartolome, 11-4, on the third day Tuesday of the tournament that offers gold as prizes for the winner and runners-up. Bartolome is a Filipino based in the U.A.E.
Efren "Bata" Reyes, a special guest at the tournament, will play exhibition matches and perform trick shots at the closing ceremony of the tournament.
