Cuevas elected new PSA president

Manila Standard sports editor Bert Cuevas was elected new president of the Philippine Sportswriters Association during yesterday’s election at the Holiday Inn Hotel.

Cuevas ran unopposed as head of the country’s oldest media organization, succeeding Philippine STAR Lito Tacujan who decided not to seek another term after serving as president for two years.

As per PSA ruling, Cuevas appointed Malaya sports editor Jimmy Cantor as vice president,

Edwin Gabutina of Today as secretary, People’s Journal’s Joe Antonio as treasurer and Tribune’s Aldrin Cardona as auditor.

Sports editors of the various newspapers were appointed members of the board.
