Arevalo shines in Thai, Viet netfests

Sixteen-year-old Czarina Mae Arevalo won two singles and one doubles titles in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Circuit in Thailand and Vietnam last week.
In Thailand, the second-seeded Arevalo won the singles title over unranked Vietnamese Huyn Mei-Huyn, 6-4, 6-3. She teamed up with German Sarah Raab to reach the finals but lost to top seeds Kao Shao-Yuan of the United States and Wang Ting-Wen of Chinese Taipei, 4-6, 6-4, 3-6.
In Vietnam, the top-ranked Arevalo defeated unseeded American Amber Janjua, 6-3, 6-3, for the singles title. The No. 1 Arevalo and Kao Shao-Yuan bagged the doubles plum over fourth seeds Tran Thi Kim Loi and Huyn, 6-0, 7-6 (2).
