RP bets cop four golds in Para Games

The Philippines pocketed four golds, eight silvers and 12 bronzes in the first ASEAN Para Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Sydney Paralympic Games veteran Andres Lubin took the gold in the javelin throw and pentathlon (F55 category) and won the silver in the shotput (T55/T54). d
The other two golds were from Christina Padtoc in the 5,000-m run (T53) and Arnold Balais in the 200-m freestyle (S29 amputee).
Padtoc was also with the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams that won the silver. Other members of the team are Ma.Africita Salazar, Ruth Maragrag and Cherrylyn dela Cruz.
Balais also salvaged five bronze medals in the 400-m free, 100-m free, 50-m free, 100-m butterfly and 50-m butterfly.
The other silver medalists were Ma. Africita Salazar in the 400-m dash (T53), Ruth Maragrag in the 100-m dash (T54), Joel Balatucan in the 100-m dash (T53), Evaristo Carbonell in long jump (T53) and Juanito Mingarine in pentathlon (T55/T54), while the bronze medalists were Salazar (1,500-m and 200-m), Maragrag (200-m), Dela Cruz (100-m), Agustin Kitan (100-m), Jericho Openia (shotput) and Michael Alonzo (running long jump).
