The Alaska organization, including former coaches and players, practicaly came in droves to pay tribute to Chambers. They all went home with a heavy heart not only because of Chambers retirement after 13 seasons in the league but also with the Aces continued slump in the season-ending tournament.
Ginebra dealt Alaska a fourth straight loss in a down-to-the-wire battle.
The Aces had a chance to send the game into overtime after Jayjay Helterbrand missed a jumper with still seven seconds left. However, James Wallkvist wasted precious seconds before hurling an outlet pass, leaving Kenneth Duremdes with no other option but to throw a prayer of a long, long shot at the buzzer.
Duremdes attempt, taken in front of two Ginebra defenders, went too strong, enabling the Kings to escape with their second win in four outings.
