Fely Fajardo passes away

Felicisimo "Fely" Fajardo, a veteran of the 1948 London Olympics and coach of the YCO team in the MICAA, died yesterday afternoon of cancer of the ligament. He was 85.
He is survived by wife Joaquina Gutierrez; children Ma. Corazon, Ma. Rosario and Ma. Teresa; brothers Gabby, Bert and Frank, and other relatives. His remains lie in state at the Sanctuario de San Jose in Greenhills, San Juan. Date of interment will be announced later.
Fajardo played for Letran when it won its first NCAA crown in 1938 before moving on to University of Santo Tomas. He also was the coach of the Philippine team that saw action in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics.
