The worlds biggest golf traders will show off their latest equipment, apparel, technology and many more when the sixth edition of the Philippine International Golf Show unfurls on Oct. 5-7 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.
The Golf Distributors Association of the Philippines (GDAP), which organizes the annual show yesterday, announced that the expected entry of the United States Commercial Service and the full cooperation of the Department of Tourism will make it the grandest in recent years.
Preparations for one of Asias biggest shows are already in full swing with GDAPs roster of membership committed to fill up the sprawling exhibition hall and treat visitors to product launches, educational seminars and promotional gimmicks.
"Well make sure that each visit at the show site will be worth it and there will be a lot of activities to look forward to," said GDAP president Raymund Atendido.
Karina Herrera, the exhibit chair, bared that the strong sponsorship response is a good sign for the event.
"Weve always believed that the show produces results for companies, the reason why we get a long list of exhibitors," said Herrera.
Herrera said that among early sponsors are Jack Nicklaus apparel, Hawaiian Tropic, Planet Sports, Srixon, Casino Filipino, Berocca, Milo Enervon Prime, Lipton Ice Tea, Taytan International and Earthinshape.com.
Celebrity appearances have highlighted each show. In 1999, Dorothy Joy Delasin, now a full-fledged star in the LPGA, had local golfers packing the hall when she made a special visit right after winning the US Womens Amateur.
The initial list of exhibitors already includes 30 companies.
