4 vie in juvenile colt series
August 5, 2001 | 12:00am
The first leg of this years Juvenile Colts Championship fires off today with a lean field of four horses, including coupled entries but unfancied Perfect Storm and Nuts Again, vying for the top P240,000 purse at San Lazaro.
The event is set over 900 meters.
Although the distance favors speedster Nuts Again, experts believe it will be a showdown between Bidang Bida and Always Florence for top honors in this event kicking off the series which Triple Crown winner Silver Story swept last year.
Also on tap is the TAB Philippines Cup featuring top-caliber chargers as Staunch Ally, Heredera, Hyperbid, My Preperido and Master Ijhay, while five MJCI Special Races are set over 1,425 meters. - Ramon Romualdez
