Aguilar tests mettle in Guam motocross

Five-time national motocross champion Glen Aguilar of Caltex will represent the country in the prestigious Miller Smokin Wheels invitational motocross championships scheduled Aug. 4-5 in Guam.
Aguilar, who is also the undisputed leader in the PLDT National Motocross Super Series, will vie for top honors against top motocross riders from Guam and other Asian countries in this annual event hosted by the Guam Racing Federation.
The multi-awarded campaigner from Las Piñas will participate in the pro category of both the supercross and flat track oval races sponsored by Miller Beer, Guam Visitors Bureau and Marriot Hotel Guam.
Aguilar was invited to the competition through the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA), an affiliate of the Philippine Olympic Committee and the countrys official representative to the world governing body for motorcycles the FIM (International Motorcycle Federation) and Asian Motorcycle Union (UAM).
Accompanying Aguilar in the two-day event are NAMSSA president Ken Falco and UAM president for motocross commission Macky Carapiet.
The Filipinos trip is also supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
Carapiet said the invitation by the organizing Guam Racing Federation to Aguilar through NAMSSA is proof of the Filipinos high standing in the Asian motocross scene.
