Anton, one of the mainstays of Pasay-based MP Turbo Racing Team, steered his green and white Hyundai Elantra to back-to-back victories in the seventh and eighth rounds of this 12-part series organized by the Batangas Racing Circuit Association (BRCA) in cooperation with Shell Helix.
The twin victories on a wet Sunday afternoon enabled the Baguio-bred Anton to widen his lead in the overall standings against erstwhile frontrunner Carlo Pastor of Team TEC.
Overall, Anton has 101 points against Pastor’s 72 points based on the 15-12-10-8-6 scoring system.
A far third overall is Anton’s teammate, Alex Padua, with 58 points.
But three other drivers – Mikko David of Caltex. Enzo Pastor of Team TEC and George Apacible of MP Turbo – remained locked in a close battle with Padua for third place honors.
David has 57 points, Pastor has 56 points and Apacible has 51 points.
In Class B, Enzo Pastor topped the eighth round to take a three-point lead over Carlo Pastor, 78-75, with still four rounds remaining.
Padua also maintained his lead in Class C, taking a 25-point cushion over David following a steady performance in the previous two rounds.
