Shark Energy Drink, still atop the heap despite absorbing its first loss in nine games to sister team Giv Beauty Soap Tuesday, clashes with Ana Freezers (6-2) while Giv (6-3) battles dangerous Welcoat Paints in the mainer at 4 p.m.
Although the Power Boosters are heavily-favored in their 2 p.m. match as they go for a semifinal seat, expect the Freezer Makers to give them a tough time especially since the Ana squad is hard-pressed in bouncing back from a 66-75 setback to the Paint Masters at the close of the elims.
The Soap Experts, on the other hand, are aiming to get back at the Paint Masters, who are currently at the bottom in the elite winners’ group.
But Giv is expected to face rough sailing versus Welcoat, currently the most dangerous team after streaking to its fourth triumph after dropping to 1-3 at the start of the season.
Welcoat coach Junel Baculi credits their team’s resurgence to better relationship between the coaching staff and the players.
"The coaching staff and the players are all determined to get back to the finals and hopefully win back the title we lost last conference versus Shark," said Baculi, who had steered the Paint Masters to three titles.  Joey Villar
