St. Benilde rips Angelicum; UP belles prevail

Reigning NCAA champion College of St. Benilde made an impressive debut in the seventh Fr. Martin Cup invitational basketball tournament Saturday by blasting Angelicum College, 94-54, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Coach Dong Vergeire’s boys dominated the match capping the opening of the tourney sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines led by Gonzalo "Lito" Puyat II and jointly sponsored by Agfa, Photo Plus, Red Bull and Smart-Piltel.
Meanwhile, University of the Philippines’ belles thumped University of the East, 54-47, yesterday at the resumption of hostilities at the UE gym.
Defending junior titlist Adamson University tripped Letran, 63-55, in another match.
