Welcoat streak in the works, spills Montana

Defending champion Welcoat Paints used a 15-2 fourth-quarter blast to seize control of the game en route to a 58-54 win over Montana Pawnshop yesterday in the PBL Chairman’s Cup at the Makati Coliseum.
In the PYBL caging earlier, Spring Cooking Oil made a rousing debut, blasting Regent Cheese Balls, 91-77. University of Assumption rapped Whiz Super Oil Treatment, 76-65, while University of the Philippines ripped National University, 61-45, in the other games.
Yancy de Ocampo and Frederick Canlas provided the muscle on defense while Renren Ritualo supplied the firepower in their fourth-quarter run that had the Paintmasters improving their win-loss record to 3-3.
PharmaQuick also evened its record at 3-3 on a 65-59 win over Hapee in the second game.
