The province of North Cotabato braces for the biggest sporting event in years as Manny Pacquiao stakes his WBC international superbantamweight title against Thailands Wethya Sakmuangklang on April 28 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, Amas, Kidapawan City.
Dubbed as "Rumblin by the Mountain, Part 2," the boxing card will have an explosive triple-bill pitting the Filipino sluggers against their Thai counterparts in the event sponsored by San Miguel Beer and Royal Palm Hotel.
Proceeds of the event will go to the Sports Development Program in Mindanao. The Rubillar brothers Juanito and Ernesto will also defend their respective WBC international crowns in the other featured bouts.
But focus will be on Pacquiao, whos is also being lined up for the legit world title.
The current WBC superbantamweight champion Willie Jorrin of United States collides with Michael Brodie of Great Britain on June 1 in Sacramento, California for the world title.
Promoter Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde, Jr., during his visit to the United States, has offered Don Chargin, Jorrins manager, to fight Pacquiao.
