As part of its commitment to support sports, Rexona has adopted the whole Philippine triathlon team set to compete in the Subic International Triathlon and the Asian Triathlon Championships in Sabah this year.
This latest undertaking by Rexona, whose sports involvement is coordinated by Albert Almendralejos Ground Zero Special Events, was welcomed by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) president Tom Carrasco at a recent press conference at Hotel La Corona that also launched TRAPs national age group series.
"We certainly welcome the entry of Rexona in triathlon and it will be a big boost both for the sport and the national triathletes," said Carrasco, who also cited Ground Zeros involvement in the national age group triathlon series.
For his part, Almendralejo cited Rexonas commitment to help Philippine sports in whatever way it can. "We are doing this under Rexonas Sundial series which covers basketball, beach football, cycling, and two other events presently being finalized."
Almendralejo turned over a donation of P50,000 as seed money for the training of the Rexona-RP triathlon team members, who will also be provided with training and competitive uniforms by Rexona as part of its support.
Among the members of the national triathlon team are Philippine champions Mark Candelaria and Nancy Pajarillo, George Vilog, Peter Gonzales, Leian Cruz, Arlan Macasieb, Ani de Leon, Bing Alto, Popo Nagtalon, junior champion Sandra Araullo, and Kaye Lopez.
