Agojo, Essi rule Corporate Cup

Agojo, Enriquez Security Services, Inc. and J. Cole Co. Ltd. prevailed in the team competitions while Godofredo Sinfuego led the individual winners in the 13th Philippine Corporate Cup golf championships held recently at the Fairways & Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club in Boracay.
The Agojo team of Rolando Aguilar, Alfredo dela Pena, Agapito Suan Jr., Joel Yamyamin and Manolo Agojo compiled 372 points on rounds of 182-190 to beat the GP Barnes Underground squad for the Group I title.
GP Barnes, one of the presenting sponsors like the College Assurance Plan, Fairways & Bluewater and the Fil-Estate Group of Companies, banked on the 108 points of Mike Adorio to shoot 368.
The other sponsors were Northwest Airlines, San Miguel and Scholl.
The ESSI team of Teddy Alberto, Popoy Flores, Nonoy Braga, Eddie Enriquez and Noli Flores amassed 335 (169-166) to win by 14 over the Leroy Ang-led Mabuhay in Group II.
Marirose Afzelius, Jose Ernesto Avila, Irman Ita-as, Ricardo Sobredilla and Eric Soriano scored 247 (118-129) to run away with the Group III crown of the two-day event at the world-famous resort as Texarcana finished at 203.
Sinfuego edged out Adorio by three for the Group I individual title after posting 111 points. Winning the two other divisions were Leroy Ang whose 93 gave him a five-point victory over Manolo Agojo in Group II and Teddy Alberto who finished 14 points ahead of Ettiene La Brooy in Group III.
