Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski arrived yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from a two-day equestrian competition in New Delhi where she bested 30 participants from seven countries.
The former movie star, who is married to basketball player Dodot Jaworski, said that she won a gold medal and a cash prize of US$400 as the first winner in the "horse jump" individual competition.
Two other Filipinos - Mia Virata and Vic Barba- also participated in the event.
"This is my first victory since I got married," said Cojuangco, a veteran rider and winners of various international events in the past.
The horse she rode to winning the individual "horse jump" contest came from the pool of horses which were provided by the army.
"I was lucky that the horse I picked through a raffle was easy to handle if I had ridden her several times before," Mikee said.
The horse name is Latif, she added.
She said that she was invited to participate in the equestrian contest by the Federation of Equestrians of New Delhi.
