Fil-Am Dorothy Delasin lost in her bid for a second LPGA crown as she faltered with a 73 and finished joint 13th in the Takefuji Classic won by Lorie Kane in Keauhou, Hawaii Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Delasin started the final round just three strokes behind Annika Sorenstam but failed to get her game going and settled for that one-over card for a 54-hole aggregate at the Kona Country Club course.
That was eight strokes behind Kanes winning 205 as the Canadian ace sizzled with a six-under par 66 to spoil the much hyped-up Sorenstam-Karrie Webb showdown. Kane beat Sorenstam, who shot a 70, by two strokes for her fourth victory in seven months.
Cristie Kerr carded a 69 to finish third at 208, while Pat Hurst (69) and Swede Maria Hjorth (67) tied for fourth at 209.
Webb, who beat Sorenstam in a playoff last year, shot a 71 to finish sixth at 210.
