World dance champs to perform Feb. 21

A fund-raising dance show, featuring four-time world show dance champions Massimo Gioganni and Alessia Manfredini and Latin dance world master champions Allan Tornsberg and Serena Lecca, will be held Feb. 21 at the Rizal Ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel Makati.
Dubbed "Come Fly with Us," the event will have as its theme "A journey via air through countries where certain dances originated, such as Cuba (Rumba and Cha-Cha), Austria (Viennese Waltz), Argentina (Argentine Tango), the United States (Jive-Jitterbug) and Spain (Paso Doble).
It will indeed be a night to remember with the four performers expected to give the Filipino audience a glimpse of their world-class skills and talents in the event staged for the benefit of Bahay Pangarap Foundation and Rehabilitation Center for the streetchildren of Pasay City.
Tornsberg and Lecca are the current US, Italian and Dutch Open champions and have been grand finalists in all major dance competitions in the world, including the British Open (Blackpool), the World Latin Championships and the International and UK Opens.
Giorganni and Manfredini, on the other hand, are the reigning world showdance champions and second placers at the European Standard Championships. They too are consistent grand finalists in prestigious competitions such as the British Open (Blackpool) and the World Standard Championships.
The show will also feature local dance sport champions and dance sport enthusiasts as guest performers.
Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. with the main show set at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are pegged at P3,000 and P2,500.
