Guevara emerges national rally champ

Art Guevara won the national rally championship title in a Mitsubishi Lancer GSR for the 2000 Petron XCS Plus Rally Series.
Guevara, with co-driver Albert Narciso, secured the national title during the Petron Rallye Pilipinas held in Nueva Ecija last May and theres no stopping the team-up, taking his total points tally to 40 in the production category.
The overall rally series, however, was won by Rikki Dy-Liacco and navigator Bing Ibaviosa in a Mitsubishi Eagle Talon, followed by Vip Isada and Robbie Hermoso in a Subaru Impreza. Second runner-up is the team-up of Carlo Garcia and Raymund Dimapilis.
In the production class, Denise Santos and navigator Joey Lanuza secured the first runner-up position, driving a Honda City followed by Bong Ambata and Jayvee Deang in a Mitsubishi Lancer. Sonny Oliveros and co-driver Jenny Ambata were stripped of their points in the production category after their Mitsubishi Lancer failed a post-race technical evaluation by the Philippine Motor Association and Auto Rally Club of the Philippines officials.
The Isada-Hermoso team-up also took in the championship in the RP 12 category, followed by Binky Siddayao and co-driver Bernie Santos. RP 13 was ruled by Edgen Dy-Liacco and navigator Roland Hermoso in a Toyota Corolla. First runner-up is Felix Mariñas - navigator Carlo Gutang. Second runner-up is Fred Garcia - Mike San Miguel in a Nissan March.
