Rosales 5 shots adrift

-
Jennifer Rosales came through with another impressive start, this time firing a three-under-par 69 to trail Korean Mi Hyun Kim by five strokes at the start of the Subaru Memorial golf in Naples, Florida Thursday (Friday in Manila).

The 22-year-old Rosales, who carded an opening 70 in last week’s YourLife Classic but faltered and settled for a joint 51st place finish with compatriot Dorothy Delasin, birdied four of the last 10 holes to join 17 others in 31st place, five shots off Kim, who sizzled with a 64.

Delasin, the Rookie of the Year who finished 36th here last year, didn’t see action as she received the PSA Athlete of the Year award here Thursday night.

With a new putter and grip, Kim shot a blistering eight-under card, her best round of the young season and it came just four days after compatriot Se Ri Pak ruled the YourLife Classic in Orlando.

Kim was one-shot ahead of Australian Wendy Doolan.
