Yulo golf offers Mitsubishi car for ace

A Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLS will be staked as hole-in-one prize in the 23rd Jose Yulo Memorial golf tournament slated Jan. 27 and 28 at the north and south courses of the Canlubang golf complex.

Organizers of the annual event, held in honor of the former Speaker, said the designated holes for aces are No. 4 of the north, courtesy of Mitsubishi Motors Phils., and No. 8 of the south course, sponsored by Diamond Motors Corp.

Ninety-six teams have so far registered for the 36-hole team event, led by the Yulo clan—chairman Jose Yulo, Jr., club president Arsenio Yulo, Jr., executive director Luigi Yulo, treasurer Joey Yulo and Carmelray executive Mikey Yulo.

Others seeing action in the event, to be played under the PAL (Stableford) system, are Vic-Vic Villavicencio, Triple V president and partner Candido Flor, TV celebrity Vic Sotto and partner-brother Val Sotto, and defending champion Juan Miguel Montinola and Luis Marcos Laurel.

The event features teams composed of a member and a guest or a spouse member and a guest. Any member participant will have a maximum handicap of 26 for male and 32 for female while guest participant a maximum handicap of 18 for male and 24 for female.

Mulligan for each nine per day will be sold at P100. Tee off starts at 7 a.m. on the first day while a shotgun start is set at 8:30 a.m. the second day. Fabulous prizes will also be rafled off during the awarding ceremony.
