LS Greenhills shines in NCR tot baseball

-
Three-peat champion La Salle Greenhills powdered Northfield, 12-2, in one of the lopsided games in five divisions of the NCR Tot Baseball Championships recently at the Alabang Country Club.

Greenhills led a rash of routs in the Pony Division for 13-14 year olds in the tournament staged by the Philippine Tot Baseball Foundation under Rodolfo "Boy" Tingzon, Jr. and sponsored by the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp. and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Manila Japanese upset last year’s runner-up Southridge, 10-6, and Noveleta Cavite squeezed in a 6-5 win over MARIST in the other Pony Division matches.

La Salle Greenhills made it two for the day with a 22-8 conquest of Northfield in the Pinto Division (7-8). Southridge beat Manila Japanese, 28-7, in other Pinto Division encounter.

Manila Japanese notched the second of their three wins in the day, crushing La Salle Greenhills, 14-3, in the Bronco Division (11-12) behind the 12 strikeouts of 11-year-old Yamauchi. La Salle Lipa routed Northfield, 16-8, also in the Bronco Category.

In the high school division (17-under), La Salle Lipa bombed Manila Japanese, 11-3, behind a four-homerun binge, and completed a double kill by blanking La Salle Zobel, 10-0.

In Girls High School, La Salle Zobel finally got its act together with half of the Philippine girls that won the WBF Girls baseball tournament with a late inning surge against Woodrose School for a 16-5 win. Woodrose School had on its roster the other half of the Philippine team.

In Girls Grade School, Manila Japanese won a very close game over Woodrose, 14-13.
