SUBIC BAY FREEPORT Carlo Baltao emerged the biggest winner, bagging two of the three trophies in the 2000 JSAP Jetski invitational tournament at the Officers Beach in Cubi Point here.
The 23-year-old Baltao first outlasted younger brother and Rookie of the Year James and Ben Sun Que in the Stock class and later kept his composure despite tough pressure from John Dee to rule the Modified 785 Open division.
"It was one tough race. My brother James and John Dee were quite a challenge and I should give them credit for the very good race," said Baltao.
With the Networx team competing in the Thailand Kings Cup Jet Ski tournament, a few riders showed up in the event organized by the Jet Sports Association of the Philippines (JSAP) and sponsored by SBMA, Everest Drinking Water, Speed, MP Turbo, Subic Bay Aquasports Center, Tabata Sandals, Boating World Makati, Manila Cordage and Subic Yacht Club.
Nevertheless, it turned as exciting.
Baltao actually ended with the same points as his brother James in the Stock class but took the first place finish via tie-break system.
Then in the Modified class, John Dee stuck close throughout but Baltao hung tough to book his second victory for the day.
Ben Sun Que, who tried to chase Dee, eventually wound up third.
James Baltao proved himself in capturing the Super Stock 1200 class title after sweeping both heats over Ben Sun Que and John Dee.
