Bayron, playing pressure-free as he started with a four-stroke lead, almost made an eagle on the last hole before a big crowd that included sponsor Robert Cheng and benefactor Gov. Manny Piñol.
Together with his earlier rounds of 74, 70, and 75 at the Capitol Hills course Bayron, 21, wound up with 291 to win the mens title by four shots and P66,000 in gift certificates plus a color television set.
Ruben dela Rosa of Wack Wack Golf & Country Club carded a 72 to bag second place at 295 and P38,500 in gift certificates while Negros Julieto Espuerto made a 74 to win third place with 298 and P27,500 in gift certificates.
Elmer Arcillas of Club Intramuros came up with a 74 and 299 to capture fourth place and P16,500.
