Nerisa Ogares closed out with a 91 yesterday to capture the women’s division crown and Jay Bayron shot a 75 to close in on the men’s title in the 13th Uratex National Caddies Championship at the Capitol Hills Golf Club.
That 91 was Ogares’ worst round after two straight 89s but it was enough to give her a five-shot win with 269 and gift certificates worth P12,000 from sponsoring Polyfoam-RGC Int’l. Corp. Uratex Philippines, Inc.
Bayron, 21 and one of Apo’s top guns who started the third round one stroke behind Elmer Arcillas, toured the par 72 course with a three-over par card 75 to go with his earlier 74 and 70 for 219 and a four-shot lead over Ruben dela Rosa and Romeo Jaraula at 223. Arcillas limped home with an 82.
Teresa Carpio of Canlubang also carded a final round 91 to secure second place and P10,000 in gift certificates.
Royal Tagaytay’s Elizabeth Tenorio and Alma Evangelista of Alabang Country Club made a 91 and 92, respectively to round up the top four with 278s.
