10 soft netters to Japan tourney

The 10 athletes of the Philippine Soft Tennis Association will be representing our country in the forthcoming fourth Asian Soft Tennis Championship which will be held in Saga City, Japan from Nov. 1-5.
The RP soft netters, led by Josephine Paguyo, Petrona Bantay, Divine Escala, Dinna Cruz, Belen Dante, are hoping for the best campaign of the Philippines in the womens division while playing assistant coach Wenifredo De Leon Jr., Richmond Paguyo, Michael Enriquez, Orlando Silvoza and Pinoy top seed Samuel Nuguit are the top bets for the mens event.
The PSTA team is supported by Peter Gaisano, PSTA vice-president and chief of mission, Agapito Custodio and head coach, Dorothy Jane Suarez, womens team coach.
"The athletes are in high morale, they are in a right track. They want to go over the medal production of the previous netfest," PSTA president Tony Tamayo said.
The participating countries are the host Japan, Philippines, China, North Korea, South Korea, Taipei, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Mongolia, Laos, Kazakhstan, India and Cambodia.
