Pirates eye crucial win vs Amigos

-

Pasig-Rizal visits Cagayan de Oro at the Mindanao Polytechnic College gym today, hoping to come up with a road victory to catch Pampanga at second in the MBA FedEx Crossover Cup.

Gametime is at 2 p.m. with the Pirates vowing to go flat out to notch their third victory in four games without former star player Bong Ravena, who returned to the PBA last week.

But the Amigos are no pushovers. In fact, the hosts are also gunning for their third victory although they have two losses, the last of which a sorry 89-92 setback they absorbed from the Manila Metrostars last Sunday in a game they dominated heading to the stretch.

This time, however, the Amigos are expected to toughen up at crunchtime before home fans and hope to score the win that would improve their position in the chart.

Over in Cabanatuan, the Negros Slashers try to bounce back from back-to-back setbacks as they play the Nueva Ecija Patriots at the Araullo Centrum University gym beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Slashers are in the middle of the pack with an even 2-2 mark while the hosts are struggling with a 2-4 (win-loss) slate. -
