Prieto heads body to pick PBA best

From coaching and playing in the Olympics and helping found the Philippine Basketball Association, Leo Prieto sure knows what it is like to be in sports.

He's seen the best -- and the worst -- of them.

And after seeing his PBA baby blossom into Asia's best professional basketball league, the affable Prieto has now been tasked to perform another great deed for the PBA -- the selection of its 25 greatest players of all time.

Prieto will chair a committee headed by the four surviving commissioners of Asia's first professional basketball league to be able to come up with the selection of the 25 greatest men ever to play in the PBA, which will serve as the highlight of the league's 25th season celebrations.

Lawyer Rodrigo Salud, Reynaldo Marquez and current top brass Jun Bernardino make up the committee which will determine from a long list the best 25 names who helped shape the PBA into what it is today.

Bernardino is currently serving his seventh term -- the second longest -- and each of them have, in their own ways, their signature contributions to the league.
