Carmelo Casas stole the spotlight in the Mango Tee 2000 when he fired a hole-in-one on No. 12 at the newly-renovated Alabang Country Club course Thursday.
Casas, playing with guest partner John Dewenter, won a Yamaha two-seater Golf Cart, courtesy of Kart Plaza Inc.
A total of 242 teams took part in the team event, sponsored by Smart Communications, Golforce, Mitsubishi Motors, Gainers Marketing and Speedpack, Inc., with Archie Lacson and guest partner Pablo Soon scoring 80 Stableford points to rule Class A. Miguel Prieto and Jovy Mendoza had 75 for second.
Victorio Valledor and Gene Lim topped Class B with 78, nipping the tandem of Luis Rivera and Jess Tadena in the countback.
Rodolfo Estrellado and Mel Acuña fired a 76 to cop the Class C crown over Wilfredo Fernandez and Jun Engracia (74), while Carlito Reyes and guest partner Abe Avena topped Class D with an 80, beating the 77 turned in by the Leo Jabeguero-R. Ilumin pair.
