“Mommy, I will miss you.

“Thank you for everything.

“Rest now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Love you forever.

“As a young girl, I was mesmerized by her beauty and brilliance on the silver screen. Watching her movies felt like entering a world of magic, where she brought every character to life with such authenticity, elegance and grace. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day, I would have the honor of working with her.

“When I became a producer for Kapag Langit ang Humatol, I saw firsthand how dedicated and professional she was. Tita Glo had this remarkable way of making everyone around her feel valued and respected. She treated every role with the same reverence, from her award-winning performance in Dalagang Ilocana, her unforgettable portrayal in Tanging Yaman, to the heartwarming comedy of Palibhasa Lalake, where she became our ever-charming Tita Minerva.

“On-screen, she brought laughter, joy, and wisdom as the lovable grandmother. Off-screen, she was just as warm and nurturing, always ready with kind words or a gentle smile that could brighten even the most difficult days.

“Tita Glo wasn’t just an icon; she was a guiding light for so many of us. She showed us how to carry success with humility, how to navigate challenges with grace, and how to leave a legacy that transcends time.

“Thank you, Tita Glo, for the laughter, the lessons, and the love you shared with all of us. You will forever live on in our hearts, a shining star whose brilliance will never fade.

“Rest in peace and power, Tita Glo. You are deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

“Nagmamahal,

Charo.”

“The Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) joins the entertainment industry in mourning the passing of the Queen of Philippine Movies, Ms. Gloria Romero. Her immense talent, grace, and unparalleled contributions to the movies and television have truly left an indelible mark on the nation’s hearts and culture.

“We are deeply grateful and take pride in having had the opportunity to honor her as an EDDYS Icon in 2018—our humble way of recognizing her extraordinary legacy and the countless lives she touched through her artistry.

“Tita Glo, thank you for inspiring generations and elevating the craft of Philippine cinema. Rest in peace, and may your light continue to shine in our memories and in the history of our beloved industry.”
