ABS-CBN, nag-trending sa apelang franchise
Nag-trending kahapon ang ABS-CBN.
Naghain nga kahapon si House Committee on Ways and Means Chairperson at Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda na naglalayong bigyan ang ABS-CBN ng 25-taong broadcast franchise. Kaya naman na-busy ang netizens.
“The non-renewal of the franchise, however, cost some 11,000 direct jobs… Prior to the rejection of the franchise renewal, some 36% of Filipinos derived their news and entertainment from the channel. ABS-CBN’s extensive regional network reach was also the source for news and updates on impending disasters, making the channel crucial then to disaster risk reduction strategies at the local level,” sabi ni Cong. Dagdag niya pa : “Kailangan natin ‘yung free market of ideas and of course reporting on events, lalung lalu na sa pananaw patungkol sa kung ano ang nangyayari sa ating bayan,” sabi niya sa mga kausap na reporter sa Congress.
Apat na katulad na ganitong panukala ang nauna nang inihain sa House of Representatives noong 19th Congress.
May pag-asa ba this year na magka-franchise ang Kapamilya Network?
Actually, kahit walang franchise, hindi naman naramdaman na walang ABS-CBN.
Mas parang lumawak nga ang kanilang reach dahil nag-focus sila sa digital platforms at ngayon napapanood na rin sila sa GMA 7 at TV5.
