Twenty three years na palang cancer-free si Maritoni Fernandez.

Maagang nadiskubre ng mga doctor ang kanyang breast cancer, stage 2. “Yes, praise God. I was diagnosed in 2001, so it’s now... hindi ko na nga nabibilang. 2024 na, so 23 years. Cancer-free for 23 years. Nawala na talaga. Praise God,” pag-alala ng actress na kilala ngayon bilang Barley Queen.

Yup, massive ang success ng kanyang negosyong barley na sinasabing diumano’y nakatulong sa kanya upang gumaling sa nasabing sakit. So tama ‘yung impression na nakakagaling ng cancer ‘yung barley?  “It can. Actually, when you do the research online, barley can heal cancer. It’s been known to heal cancer, even ‘yung mga stage 4. But I personally don’t recommend it, because, personally, I did chemo and radiation therapy. Ang ginawa ko, I did all of those with the barley. Kasi, of course you cannot compare naman something that has had all these studies by medicine, ‘di ba? So for me, it has positives and negatives. Kapag kasi purong gamot ang ginagamit mo nakakapatay din ng healthy cells sa katawan, which is what chemotherapy does. So kapag nag-take ka naman ng food supplement like barley, ang nangyayari na maganda is nagre-recover ‘yung mga pinatay na cells,” paliwanag niya tungkol sa kanilang Amazing Pure Organic Barley sa ilalim ng kumpanya nilang IAMWorldwide na ang bagong ambassador ay si Marian Rivera.

Kailan officially nag-start ‘to? “I got sick 2001 umuwi ako, 2000 ako nagkasakit. I started the barley business in Mercury in 2005. Tapos nag-meet kami nila AM (business partner) 10 years ago. And then we supplied previous company, after no’n we decide to put up our own na.”
