John Arcilla, inihandog sa kapamilyang namatay sa COVID-19 ang napanalunang best actor sa Venice filmfest
Ibang cast ng probinsyano, tuloy ang quarantine
Dennis, parang nanaginip nang makasama si Bong Joon-Ho
Extended ang quarantine ng ibang cast ng Ang Probinsyano matapos ang kanilang reswabbing last Saturday.
May ilang nag-positive pa rin diumano ayon sa source.
Pero since magkakaiba nga raw sila ng hotel - as in five to six hotels pala ang occupied nila sa Ilocos, sa mga hotel na negative ang buong cast and staff plus staff ng hotel, tinuloy na raw ang taping.
At ‘yun daw mga hotel na may nag-positive, reswabbing uli next week at pag-ok na saka diumano magre-resume ang taping.
Strict daw ang local government ng Ilocos kaya talagang lahat ng protocol sinusunod nila.
Pero in case na may mag-positive pa diumano after a week, malamang daw mag-pull out na doon ang taping ng Ang Probinsyano na in all fairness kahit almost two weeks nang naka-quaratine ay may naipapalabas pa at tinututukan pa rin ng mga manonood.
At kasama sa naka-lock in sa Ilocos para sa Ang Probinsyano, si John Arcilla.
Two days ago, pangarap lang ng actor ang manalo ng Volpi Cup (Best Actor) sa Venice International Film Festival. Nag-post pa siya ng mga nanalo na nito - Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, at iba pa.
Post niya : “Here is the roster of some Great Actors who won the most coveted Volpi Cup at the Venice international Film Festival. I wish we can have one someday! Hahahaha if you dream as they say. Dream big! God bless everyone,” sabi ng isa sa mga bida sa pelikulang On The Job: The Missing 8.
After 24 hours, natupad ang pangarap niya. Kahanay na siya ng mga actor na hinahalikan ang napanalunan nilang trophy habang nasa red carpet ng sikat na international filmfest sa Italy.
‘Yun nga lang, hindi niya ito personal na natanggap.
Makikita sa uploaded video ni Dennis Trillo na naka-concentrate ang mga nasa venue nito sa acceptance speech virtually ni John.
Ito ang unang Volpi Cup ng Pinoy actor.
“If there is something I really regret tonight, it is I won’t be able to kiss my own Volpi cup there in the middle of Venice and on that red carpet just like all other 77 actors who I admire who have kissed their own prestigious award one actor could ever have,” sabi ni Heneral Luna sa video message pagkatapos tawagin ang kanyang pangalan bilang nanalo.
Sa kanyang Instagram account ay muli rin siyang nagpasalamat at inihandog ang napanalunang karangalan sa kanyang ama’t kapatid na pumanaw sa COVID.
“Thank you 78Venice International Film Festival. I can’t find the right word about how I feel today! This VOLPI CUP is such a symbol of a milestone in my work as an actor.
“Just like my cup of life which is so full of blessings outpouring from the heavens and I wish I can share this to all my loved ones who left us in this lifetime.
“This Most prestigious award I received today lift up my spirit to the Heavens and I am transforming this Joy, achievement or victory or Honor into love so that the loved ones I am missing can feel my heart which is outpouring with gratitude to all who love me and inspire me to get to where I am today and I’m thanking God for putting them into my life. Some of them are gone. I wish I can embrace all the people I love and my Victory in one cup, but Nay as they say…

Si Dennis with Direk Erik Matti, Dondon Monteverde, Direk Quark Henares ang lumipad pa-Italy para dumalo sa nasabing prestigeous event na si Oscars Best Director Bong Joon-ho ang head of jury.
Nanalong Best Actress si Penelope Cruz para sa pelikulang Parallel Mothers na isang political film.
Pero hindi man nanalo si Dennis, napuri naman siya ni Direk Bong Joon-ho. Narinig sa uploaded video niya : “You were so great.”
“Nananaginip ba ako??? hollywood levelingst!!!!” caption pa ni Dennis habang nagbi-video at kasama ang mahusay na Korean director ng Parasite at iba pang critically acclaimed Korean film.
Nakapagpa-sign din siya rito ng libro. “Mission Accomplished!!! Thank you tito Bong!!!”
Aside from Direk Bong nakasama niya rin in one photo si Nomadland director Chloe Zhao.
Kaya winner din si Dennis at he rubs shoulders pa sa mga tinitingala sa film industry sa buong mundo.
Ang pelikulang crime-thriller na On The Job: The Missing 8 ay ang pang-anim na pelikulang Pilipino na napanood sa Venice. Palabas ang unang tatlong episodes nito sa HBO Asia Original series na On The Job.
“Despite the uncontrollable circumstances of this pandemic, OTJ made its way to Venice and is set to premiere on HBO. We are happy to support the film and are hoping that it will also receive the same support from our Filipino audiences as much as it has in the international arena and may this serve as an inspiration to our filmmakers and the industry,” wika ni FDCP Chairperson at CEO Liza Diño.
