Ayon sa beteranang aktres ay maraming mga bagay ang kanyang natutunan ngayon sa trabaho. “With regards to the younger generation, you know I’ve been doing teleseryes for 30 years, almost thirty five years. I’ve worked with all kinds and it’s a big adjustment for old school actors, iba ‘yung natutunan namin. And now there’s so many things to adjust to, the platforms, how you do things. Ngayon ang natututunan ko at pinag-aaralan ko pa, I don’t only get it from the younger generations but the whole industry’s evolving so you have to adjust, you have to adapt. Kailangang makasabay ka because everything’s evolving and adjusting. So I’m learning and I’m still learning. It’s kind of difficult for someone like me in the industry but I’m grateful and blessed because you learn and you don’t cease to learn. You learn every day,” paliwanag ni Cherry Pie.
Mayroong mensahe ang aktres para sa mga mas nakababatang mga kasamahan sa trabaho. “I hope that they take it positively na marami kayong matututunan sa lahat ng makakatrabaho n’yo. I hope that you take it to heart, seryosohin ang craft before anything else because that will entail your longevity in the industry. Katulad din ng mga natutunan ko no’n, ‘yung respeto, pagtatrabaho, ‘yung disiplina. And if there’s one thing that I will advise them, please don’t take it for granted because now you’re really blessed. Hindi katulad namin noon na talagang pinagtatrababuhan namin ang bawat pagkakataon na mabigyan kami ng eksena sa pelikula o telebisyon. Now it’s there so don’t take it for granted. Work hard for it and earn your spot,” makahulugang pahayag ng aktres.
Regine, nilalait-lait noon ang hitsura kaya ginalingang kumanta
Masayang inalala ni Regine Velasquez ang mga panahong nagsisimula pa lamang siya sa show business.
Ayon sa Asia’s Songbird ay hindi madali ang kanyang mga pinagdaanan noon. “’Yung laging comment sa akin, ‘Hindi masyadong kagandahan, baka hindi siya sumikat. Maputi lang.’ I was told to my face, ‘Baka hindi sumikat kasi hindi masyadong maganda. Siguro dapat mag-ayos pa.’ I’ve always thought I was not pretty because I was told I was ugly. But that didn’t make me insecure for some reason. I accepted that fact kasi sila ‘yung tumitingin eh. But in my head, ‘Wait, till you hear me sing,’” kwento ni Regine.
Kahit maraming narinig na hindi magagandang salita ay hindi pa rin sumuko noon ang singer. Palaging nakasuporta ang pamilya lalo na ang amang si Mang Gerry noong nagsisimula pa lamang si Regine. “Hindi ako naging insecure kasi my father would always have his way of making me feel confident about myself, as a matter of fact, naging challenge for me. Sinabihan akong hindi sisikat kasi pangit. Talaga ba? lets see, gagalingan ko pa,” pagbabalik-tanaw ng Asia’s Songbird.
Tatlumpu’t limang taon nang aktibo si Regine sa show business. Mula noon ay talagang hindi nawawala sa sirkulasyon ang singer. “You have to show up kahit ano pang nangyari sa ‘yo. That’s all I did, I kept showing up, may boses o wala, may sakit, malapit na mamatay, I’d show up. Your audience don’t care what you’re going through personally. They don’t have to know, they don’t care. They are there to be entertained because they probably have their own thing. Sa thinking ko, if I don’t show up, hindi mo nagawa ‘yung what you’re supposed to do. You’re getting paid to do that. Or kahit na walang bayad, actually mas mahirap nga hindi mag-show up sa walang bayad kasi nakakahiya ‘yon eh,” paliwanag ng singer.
