Ang GEMS ay isang bagong-tatag na samahang binubuo ng mga akademisyan mula sa iba’t ibang eskuwelahan, mga propesyunal galing sa pribadong institusyon at sector ng lipunan at mga estudyante mula sa mga sikat na kolehiyo at pamantasan.
Kasama sa pinarangalan ng GEMS ang Pilipino Star NGAYON bilang Best Newspaper (Tabloid), Philippine Star (Best Newspaper Broadsheet) at ang inyong lingkod.
