Lucena: I take pride in my roots –there is no greater honor than being able to uphold and inspire others simply by being a genuine Cebuana.

BNH: Who encourage you to join?

Lucena: My brother has always been close to me. Although we’re currently thousands of miles away, he never ceases to push me to reach for my dreams and believe in the things I can accomplish even when I couldn’t see them for myself.

BNH: Greatest competitor in the pageant?

Lucena: I Am Myself’s Greatest Critic/Competitor. I try not to measure progress by looking at how far others have gone, but by simply trying to be better than the person I was the day before.

BNH: Inspiration in life?

Lucena: MY Mother. She is my Miss Cebu! She is a true blue Cebuana –an epitome of a woman strong and resilient despite struggle and hardships.

BNH : Unsa nga proyekto imong gustong himoon kung ikaw ang mamahimong sunod nga Miss Cebu?

Lucena: Since I was a scholar of this city, I would like to see my advocacy on education be materialized with the help of Miss Cebu charity, Cebu City Tourism Office and Cebu City Administration to inspire and elevate the children of this city who will be its future. A yearly provision of basic school supplies to all levels of a selected public school in Cebu City. Not only will it eliminate one of the hindrances of children not wanting to go to school but it will increase enrollees for the following year. If we can’t provide them free education, we might as well give them the basic educational tools to inspire them and show them that this city looks after the children of its future. We’ll never know, one eventful day, we might just make Cebu City “street children Free”.

Cy: I joined Miss Cebu because I want to be a symbol of strength to women who have been abused and mistreated. As a woman, I’ve always believed that we need to be treated well and with respect. I want to let the world know that being a woman is a privilege and an honor, as not only are we beautiful, but we are also strong and intellectual.

BNH: Kinsa nag-encourage nimo nga muapil?

Cy: My mother would be the main reason that I joined. She pushed me to become better and stand up from the past that I’ve been through, which in turn made me realize my self worth and esteem.

BNH: Greatest competitor in the pageant?

Cy: My greatest competitor would be Candidate number 12, Wynonah Buot. She is a woman of intellect, strength, elegance and grace, wherein she would also be a fitting choice as the next Miss Cebu.

BNH: Inspiration in life?

Cy: My inspiration in life would be my parents. They have molded me to become the person that I am today. Being the eldest child, I have been through what they have been through. All the ups and downs, and all the lessons that came along with it. Because of that, I am proud to say that they have raised me well. I look up to them for being able to handle all the obstacles from the beginning, and never giving up, to reaching where we are now.
