Mike, Korina, at Luchi sabay-sabay nag-deny

Sabay-sabay ang statement ng tatlong TV personalities na nadadawit sa Pork Barrel Scam na pinangalanan ng isang broadsheet.

Hindi man pinaniniwalaan ng marami na tumanggap sina Mr. Mike Enriquez (GMA7), Ms. Korina Sanchez (ABS-CBN) and Ms. Luchi Cruz Valdez (TV5), nakaladkad pa rin ang mga pangalan nila at may ibang naniniwala.

Naunang nagpadala si Ms. Cruz ng paliwanag:

“I deny and denounce any imputation or suggestion that I benefited in any way from the PDAF funds facilitated by Mr. Benhur Luy. I have not ever met Mr. Luy, Ms. Janet Lim Napoles, or anyone from JLN Corp., and certainly have not received any gift in any form from their company. More broadly, over the course of more than three decades as a journalist, I have never received any gift from any party in exchange for any kind of consideration in my news coverage.

“For the record, the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) should be aware that, in the period of 2004 to 2008, over which time PDI reports that Mr. Benhur Luy and a certain Mr. Mon Arroyo suppo­sedly facilitated disbursements to media personalities, including supposedly to me as a member of Probe Team, I was no longer part of the esteemed media group. I was already six years out of Probe as of 2004, to be exact.

“I deny any knowledge of the supposed “representation expense” incurred on my behalf by Mr. Mon Arroyo, as mentioned in the PDI report.

“I denounce the reckless inclusion of my name in a list that has no legal legs to stand on. Luy’s supposed record is largely hearsay; the reporting of such as anything even remotely truthful not only casts grave doubt on my person and professional integrity, but on that of the very institution of the press of which the Inquirer is part,” pagbabahagi ni Ms. Luchi Cruz Valdez na ngayon ay head ng News Department ng TV5.

Heto naman ang statement ng ABS-CBN para kay Ms. Koring:

 â€œKorina Sanchez has sufficiently denied receiving any gift of any form from Janet Napoles or any of her representatives. We in ABS-CBN believe that the allegation that came out in the Philippine Daily Inquirer was baseless and unsupported. The sworn statement of the person named to have allegedly brought the gift to Korina had also denied participation in this alleged gift-giving.

 â€œThe PDI story was based on only one source - an entry in the computer files of Benhur Luy which was turned over to the paper one year ago. The imputations on the journalists named are serious and damaging to reputations built over many years. We encourage all responsible journalists to verify this entry’s accuracy by getting corroborating proof, a second source, and other supporting documents.

“ABS-CBN fully supports Korina Sanchez as our news organization remains committed to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and ethics in news reporting. In our coverage of the PDAF scam, our journalists are mindful of the need to present the truth fully and be accountable for our actions.”

Hindi rin naniniwala ang GMA7 na magagawa ‘yun ng kanilang pambatong news achor.

“The management of GMA has read the recent reports alleging that Mr. Mike Enriquez, senior anchor and host, appears in a so-called list of media personalities who have received gifts from JLN Inc., particularly through Mr. Benhur Luy. 

“Mr. Enriquez had denied receiving any gift of any sort from JLN Inc. or from any person related to JLN Inc. Likewise the person named to have brought the money to Mr. Enriquez has executed an affidavit denying his participation in the said act.

“Given that the allegation against Mr. Enriquez is uncorroborated and bare, there is no reason at this time for GMA to take the same seriously. Mr. Enriquez had always adhered to the high level of professionalism required by GMA and it stands by him in the face of these baseless imputations,” statement nila.

Sana nga ay malinis nila ang pangalan nila na nadungisan sa isyung ito.
